I purchased this notebook after seeing it recommended by Wirecutter, and I’m not disappointed! It is certainly better than a Moleskin and IMO rivals the Leuchtturm1917 in terms of quality, at a much lower price.CONS:Page Format – This is the only real complaint I have with the notebook, and it’s quite a nitpick. I wish that the ruling was more narrow (6mm vs 7mm) and extended the entire way across the page. I have small handwriting and like to fill the entire page as efficiently as possible. I will probably buy the grid version next time.PROS:- Paper quality -This is always subjective, but I find this paper very pleasant to write on. It has a very fine grain, and is well-suited for use with a fountain pen. I haven’t encountered any bleed-though, and have been pleasantly surprised at how little ghosting there is, even with an alcohol-based fineliner.- Construction -The notebook has a nice-feeling cover, and paper edges are flush. The notebook is also section-sewn (12 groups of sewn pages are glued into the binding) which means that it lies flat fairly well and doesnt constantly try to shut while sketching or laying the notebook open. This is a soft-cover notebook so you will generally want to have something backing it while writing, but the cover is sturdy enough to write without a support in a pinch.- Price -The biggie for me is the price. Are there notebooks that I like better? Yeah, probably. I adore the Tamoe River paper found in the Hobonichi notebooks, but those notebooks also cost more than twice as much.In conclusion, I am very happy with this notebook, and would recommend it to anyone strange like me that cares about nice stationary. Thanks for reading, & hope this review was helpful!Model: Apica Premium C.D. Notebook – A5-7 mm RulePrice at time of purchase: $11.80 USD [...]
